Overview:
The Holman Bible Dictionary describes forgiveness as a term used to indicate pardon for a fault or an offense, to excuse from payment for a debt owed. Jesus died to forgive our sins with God the Father. He also commanded that we forgive those that sin against us, and we must forgive from the heart. Jesus demonstrated this love on the cross. Jesus said, in John 13:34-35, "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
